Before you even sit in the exam chair, we use a standardized Symptom Scoring System. This helps us quantify your discomfort and provides a baseline to measure your improvement throughout treatment.

We use state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to "map" your ocular surface. This includes:
NITBUT (Non-Invasive Tear Break-Up Time): A digital measurement of how many seconds it takes for your tear film to evaporate.
Ocular Surface Staining: Using specialized clinical dyes to identify microscopic areas of dryness or damage on the cornea that aren't visible to the naked eye.

Once we identify your specific type of dry eye—whether it's a lack of oil, a lack of water, or inflammation—we build your custom recovery kit. Your plan may include:
In-Clinic Resurfacing & Cleaning (included in all dry eye appointments as of July 2026)
Zest (Zocular) & NuLids: Deep-cleaning treatments for the eyelids that remove biofilm and bacteria (the "dental cleaning" for your eyes).
Advanced Clinical Interventions
Punctal Plugs: Microscopic inserts that prevent your natural tears from draining away too quickly.
Prescription Therapy: Targeted antibiotic or anti-inflammatory drops to calm the ocular surface.
Biological Healing (Amniotic Membrane): For severe cases, we use advanced regenerative tissue grafts to "reboot" and heal the corneal surface.

£195.00 for each visit, which includes a Zest treatment performed by our experienced Optometrists. Alongside this we include one free aftercare pack.
FAQs
How often do I need to have a dry eye appointment?
This depends heavily on how bad your dry eye is. Most require 1-2 sessions per year, with very few requiring more. A large percentage find that just once per year is enough to reduce their symptoms, and their need for drops.
Is it guaranteed to work?
Unfortunately dry eye is a complex condition, and whilst the overwhelming majority find a significant benefit, some do find that more intensive options are required.
Is Zest the same everywhere?
The treatment pack (Zest) forms part of our dry eye appointment. We also have extremely qualified and experienced Optometrists who have 20+ years experience, and our appointments are much longer than the industry standard. All dry eye appointments are booked in with our Optometrists, therefore our prices reflect this.
